Had the privilege of visiting the brand new Park Playground in Birmingham this week!
Hadn't realised until I got there and saw their menu that I'd helped award their "Don't Scream" experience as the "Best Arts and Entertainment Solution" at the XR Awards earlier this year. Was super impressed by the venue, the entire experience, quality of VR and games, and the lovely hosts. Completely lost myself inside one their immersive multi-player games. I had so much fun that I've invited their CEO to be my next guest on XR STAR. Can't wait to learn more about this location-based VR franchise, and I also can't wait until my next visit! Check it out: www.theparkplayground.com/en-gb ![]() Yesterday I had the pleasure of sharing my latest research and insights into "Converging Technologies & the Future of Retail" at CMS UK's Consumer & Retail Conference! As this event rounded out the mini world tour I've been on the last several months, here's a couple key points that may be helpful to remember no matter what industry you're in: 👉 Education is the most powerful tool we have when it comes to adopting and utilising new technologies in the most responsible and strategic ways. We'e not just talking about investing in tech - we're also talking about investing in ourselves and our people. 👉 By 2030 we are going to have the disparate workforce ever in terms of age, experience, expectations, and locations. Organisations are going to need to adopt MetaHybrid models in order to solve emerging challenges and create a company culture that attracts and retains talent. 👉 We can no longer talk about technologies like Gen-AI, blockchain, XR, etc. in siloed conversations - It is almost impossible to talk about one without also considering the impact and influence of the others. It is at these intersection points that we are getting a roadmap to both coming opportunities and disruptions. 👉 We have to be aware of and talk about risks now - from issues of embedded bias, to threats on equality, the environment, and our perception of reality. The only way to avoid potential pitfalls is to identify them ahead of time. Thanks to Tom Scourfield, Katie Nagy de Nagybaczon, Alice Meekins, Katie Stirrop, and everyone else who made it a terrific event! #futurist #futureofretail #riskmanagement #metaverse #generativeai #keynotespeaker What a wonderful experience it was to speak in Olsztyn Poland last week at the #WaMaMarketing conference in front fo this incredible audience!

#futurist #consultant #AI #XR By 2030 millennials & Gen Z will make up 58% of the global workforce. Gen Alpha will be entering workforce, and we’ll also have the largest population of people over 60 ever - many of whom will still be working. We are looking at having the most disparate workforce ever - with varying levels of experience, expertise, expectations, and locations.
MetaHybrid - a term I use to describe the future of work - is about creating one seamlessly integrated, consistent, and stimulating experience across all areas of work, including physical, digital, and now also the virtual. When we work together in virtual spaces as avatars we may find it's easier to concentrate on the things we all have in common, rather than making conscious or subconscious judgements based on someone’s age or physical appearance. When I was starting out in the workforce I did a range of internships which put me in an office setting where I learned by assisting, but I also learned by osmosis - picking up on the subtleties of human interactions in professional settings. With the last couple years of covid, and remote and hybrid models continuing to be the norm for many companies, we need to look for ways we can provide the next generations with the same social skills, training, and opportunities that were available to previous generations, and I believe technology is going to fill this gap. In this episode of #XRStar I interview Sara Filipcic, the CEO & Founder of Be Human(e), a company that builds AI-driven experiential learning platforms for developing life-success skills. Part of why I became a futurist is because I don't think we talk about risk enough - and if we aren't aware of the pitfalls of new technologies, how are we going to avoid them?
